By accessing or using SchoolBase ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of a school or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these terms.

Description of Service

SchoolBase is a school management platform that helps educational institutions centralize operations, communication, student data, and administrative workflows. The Service is provided free of charge to qualifying educational institutions.

Eligibility

The Service is available to accredited educational institutions including primary schools, secondary schools, and other qualifying educational organizations. We reserve the right to verify eligibility and deny service to organizations that do not meet our criteria.

User Accounts

When using SchoolBase, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information during registration and onboarding
• Maintain the security of your account credentials and not share them with unauthorized individuals
• Immediately notify us of any unauthorized access to your account
• Be responsible for all activities that occur under your account

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations
• Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or any other harmful content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service

Data Ownership

Schools retain ownership of all data they upload to SchoolBase. We do not claim any ownership rights to your content. You grant us a limited license to use, process, and store your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability of the Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform scheduled maintenance and will endeavor to provide advance notice when possible. We are not liable for any downtime or service interruptions.

Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and functionality, is owned by SchoolBase and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on our Service without our express written permission.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SchoolBase shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. Upon termination, we will provide you with access to export your data for a reasonable period. After this period, we will delete your data in accordance with our data retention policies and applicable law.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated terms on our website and, where appropriate, by email. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which SchoolBase operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
